I have several cats that I have been able to track and see their progress as pets. All that I have been able to see are very well satisfied and healthy. The cats themselves can be fairly carefree and provide for years of enjoyment. Alternatively, they also provide the companionship above and beyond what a regular cat can, or is willing. With great attitude and good breeding these cats can be a long term life partner that usually isn't found in a domestic animal.
